Macaroni Elbow


Marco Polo Elbow Macaroni is an ideal product for long term food storage and quick preparation.

Shelf-Life:  For best results use Marco Polo Spaghetti within 2 years after the manufactured date. The product should be placed in an airtight container, and storage in a cool, dry place.

Cooking Instructions:  Bring 3.5 liters of water to a vigorous boil. Add 2 tsp. salt along with content of package to boiling water. Boil uncovered for 12-14 minutes until Macaroni is tender but not soft. Drain and prepare in your favorite way.

Uses: Marco Polo Elbow Macaroni can be used for macaroni and cheese, pasta salads, casseroles, soups and more.

Packaging:  Marco Polo Elbow Macaroni is available in  400 grams packages. One serving size is 55 grams (2oz) dry.

RECIPES

Baked Pasta with Italian Sausage

Ingredients

14 oz Marco Polo elbow pasta
1 lb of sweet Italian sausage sliced and diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, dicedbaked-pasta-on-plate.jpg
6 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano

salt and pepper to taste
1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1 cup cheese grated 
1/2 cup basil sliced finely

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  

In large pot, cook pasta according to package directions, (ONE MINUTE less than required).

Drain pasta and set aside.

Heat 1 TBS oil in a large skillet, add sausages and cook until evenly browned, about 5 minutes.  

Remove sausage from the skillet and put on a plate.

Add remaining 1 TBS oil to the pan, heat, and cook onions until translucent.  Add garlic and cook for an extra minute.  Add sausages back in and add tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano.  Continue to cook until all the sauce is hot and bubbling. Add salt and pepper to taste.  

Add pasta to the skillet and toss until pasta is coated.  Pour into a 3 quart casserole dish.  Top with cheese.

Bake for 15 minutes, or until cheese is all melted.  Remove from oven and top with basil.  Serve and enjoy!
